Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Designer, Technical SUPERVISOR: Lead Designer, Technical JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Hybrid Position Overview: The Technical Designer will be crucial in creating accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans for various interior design projects. Your expertise in CAD software and understanding of interior design principles will contribute to the successful execution of our projects.Key Responsibilities:Assist with creating detailed technical drawings and plans for various interior design projects.Assist in placement of drawings in project files, continuously update onto layers, and set up allpage layouts when given plan set backgrounds and elevation blockouts from architects.Keep all backgrounds up to date as plan sets are adjusted frequently during weekly designmeetings with clients.Create interior plan sets, which include reflected ceiling plans, furniture and power plans, finish plans and interior elevations.Advise whether preferred furniture selections fit into plans at their existing sizes andrecommend whether custom pieces are needed and at what size; create custom furniture drawings.Translate all designs into elevations, adding details such as base, casing, wall treatments, ceilingtreatments, millwork, lighting, plumbing, etc.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and InDesign.Proven work experience as a CAD Designer in an interior design firm.Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and constructiondocumentation.Knowledge of building codes, regulations, ADA and industry standards related to interior design.Ability to create accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans.Familiarity with materials, finishes, and furnishings commonly used in interior design.Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Effective communication skills to collaborate with designers, architects, and project stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-drivenenvironment.Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design and technical issues.3D rendering experience is a plus.Amber Interiors is an equal opportunity employer.
