Architect II | Designer III

Our award-winning headquarters in Portland, Maine, is designed to support in-person collaboration and creativity. In this role, you will: • Be responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions • Create presentations that may include technical drawings, renderings, diagrams, and other materials to communicate concepts with clients and team members • Participate in regulatory review and confirm compliance with local and state codes • Apply advanced architectural concepts and design skills independently • Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of complex projects • Collaborate with Principal Architects, Project Managers, and team members from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation • When appropriate, lead a project from initial planning through Contract Administration with guidance from senior staff • Coordinate with our Construction and Millwork divisions, along with other consultants, to understand budgets, schedules, and technical requirements • Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or refined techniques • Communicate with clients and team members to address design needs in a timely and professional manner • Mentor and support junior staff by providing technical guidance and design feedback • Occasionally measure and document existing structures A successful candidate will: • Maintain a commitment to excellence for our clients and the architecture we produce • Approach design and learning with energy, curiosity, and an inquisitive mindset • Seek solutions proactively and manage their workload with efficiency • Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail • Communicate ideas constructively and respectfully, and value the contributions of the entire team Woodhull is committed to supporting our team with competitive compensation, meaningful benefits, and a balanced approach to work.
