Project Designer/Architect Landis Architects/Builders is looking for a talented architect who is ready to break free from the antiquated studio system. What We Are Looking For • Soft Skills o Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications o Commitment to team results o A lifelong learner o A positive attitude o Solution oriented o Honest o Reliable o Creative o Strong analytical skills o Active listener o Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multitask o Ability to manage detailed/complex concepts and problems o Solid negotiation skills and strategies o Unafraid to ask for input from the team o Ability to manage profitability on design jobs • Hard Skills o Residential Project Designer/Architect with 3-5 years of experience o Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design o Excellent Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite o Ability to work with the Senior Leadership to develop strong design concepts and accurately document them in design presentations and construction documents o Experience with space planning, FF&E; specifications, material selections, and codes o Experience with the construction administration process in residential and light commercial projects o Excellent 3D graphic rendering skills • Requirements o Valid work permit (USA) o Local residency (DC, Maryland, or Virginia) What We Prefer • LEED and/or WELL accreditation • Progress toward NCIDQ Certification or Architectural Licensure What We Offer • Health Plan • Group Life Insurance • Short Term Disability • Vacation • Personal Time • Paid Holidays • 401(k) Plan • Free employee parking • Lunch and learns for career development and licensure maintenance • Leadership opportunities through our many committees Position Responsibilities • Oversee projects from initial sale through final punch out • Provide leadership and supervise staff in the development of project documents • Review project program and explore buildable and innovative solutions • Develop client relationships • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural subcontractors • Depict the architectural design intent • Solving for architectural construction and renovation projects • Generate and manage development of architectural design drawings • Take architectural drawings/design from a conceptual stage through construction documentations • Understand and interpret architectural drawings and design concepts • Negotiating fees and coordination of architectural design • Prepare complete and comprehensive architectural construction drawings and specifications • Developing schematic design drawings and construction document drawing packages • Oversee the creation of design documents for architectural facilities • Assist in estimating architectural project costs • Coordinate architectural design work with related engineering disciplines • Make and analyze comprehensive architectural designs • Prepare design and construction documents, correct and update drawings, and provide other architectural office support • Integrate architectural components with structural components • Provided for architectural, structural and MEP • Prepare presentation drawings to communicate project design intent • Prepare part drawings for fabrication and construction drawings for building erection • Provide design and construction coordination on design/build projects, accurate and complete preliminary and final work drawings; design schematic drawings from building program elements • Generate architectural plans on multiple projects from start to finish • Assemble construction documents and interior item specifications Company Overview Landis Architects/Builders, established in 1990, is an architect-driven full- service residential design/build firm that specializes in high-end residential and light commercial renovations.
