Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Teach a full faculty load of 15 credits per semester (12 credits of instruction and 3 credits of student advising) during fall and spring semesters • Deliver engaging instruction in lecture and studio courses, including but are not limited to: • Foundations of Design • Interior Architecture & Design studios • Lecture courses in design theory or professional practice • Digital visualization and technical drawing courses utilizing AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Lumion • Advise and mentor undergraduate students regarding academic progress, course planning, portfolio development, internships, and career pathways • Participate in CIDA and NASAD accreditation activities, including documentation, assessment, and program review • Fulfill responsibilities outlined in the University Faculty Handbook, including committee work, recruitment and outreach, and participation in department and university events • Engage with industry professionals, guest critics, and community partners to support student learning and professional development • Represent the University with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to student success • Other duties as assigned Education/Required Qualifications: • Master's degree required in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a closely related field • NCIDQ certification, or eligibility with active progress toward certification (required by Fall 2028) • Strong professional portfolio demonstrating accomplishment in interior design or interior architecture • Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and/or Lumion • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively within a studio-based design curriculum Preferred Qualifications: • 3-5 years of collegiate teaching experience, preferred • Familiarity with CIDA accreditation standards and outcomes-based design education, preferred • Experience integrating digital visualization, building systems, sustainable design, or emerging technologies into coursework, preferred • Experience mentoring students in portfolio development, internships, and professional preparation, preferred Application materials should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae/resume, and contact information for at least 3 professional references.
