Associate Interior Designer for Ohio

Gem and Clay Interiors is a full-service interior design firm working with high-end residential and boutique commercial clients in Ohio and Florida. We are seeking highly creative, organized and detail-oriented individuals with a passion for design and project management to help build our team.

We are currently searching for an associate interior designer to carry out design and project-management-related tasks for our projects and clients, alongside our team. The Designer must be a highly-organized, creative problem-solver, possessing excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills. The designer will participate in developing the creative vision for clients’ projects, as well as helping manage the design process from start to finish for their projects. We are looking for individuals who seek a fast-paced work environment, who enjoy working remotely with clients and a team. The designer must demonstrate excellent listening skills, creativity, communication and follow-through, and be proactive in improving our processes and offerings for greater client satisfaction and, overall, greater beauty being put into the world.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

Design creation, development & execution
Working in conjunction with Design Leads, other team members, service partners and trades to deliver excellence
Coordinating internally with other team members to move projects along and ensure all collaborators have the resources they need to succeed in the project
Communicating with the client on matters pertaining to ongoing projects, project information, timelines, etc.

This is largely a remote working opportunity, with exception of install days/weeks, but needs to live in Northeast Ohio for frequent client site visits and collaborating with team members at our office. Applicants will need reliable transportation.

Skills needed:

2+ years of experience working for a design firm or studio
Proficient in Gmail and Google Suite programs, such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc. Experience with Microsoft Excel as well.
Adobe Photoshop
Sketchup & LayOut
Must be comfortable learning & working in a variety of software & computer programs for project management, product management, etc.
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, delegation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Team-player
Proactive and enthusiastic attitude is a must!
