Associate Professor of Interior Design

It is the only program in Maryland offering a 4-year professional degree in interior design. Along with these teaching and leadership responsibilities, the candidate will build and maintain a research agenda appropriate for a tenure-track or tenured faculty line and be expected to publish their work in quality peer-reviewed scholarly journals and books, engage in external grant activity to support their scholarship, and carry out impactful creative work relevant to the field and the mission of the school. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics Primary administrative and leadership responsibilities include administering the INTD curriculum, determining teaching assignments for program faculty, recruitment, advising students within the major, conducting student learning outcomes assessments, guiding the program's accreditation effort and maintenance, serving as a liaison to the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and other professional and academic bodies related to the field, representing the program in SA+P's leadership team and university administrative bodies, program promotion and fundraising, and maintaining robust relationships with the local and national professional worlds.
