West Coast Industries (WCI) is looking for an energetic and inspired Cabinetmaker for our Carson factory. For more than 80 years, West Coast Industries has continued to be an innovative and creative partner to the architecture and interior design communities. This is an intermediate position and all applicants must have experience building or finishing. You must be competent in using power tools and willing to follow all safety precautions. What You Will Do Read blueprints and drawings, taking measurements to plan layout and procedures Produce and assemble components primarily for banquettes, benches, and table tops Trim, sand, and scrape surfaces and joints to prepare articles for finishing Verify dimensions, and check the quality and fit of pieces in order to ensure adherence to specifications Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines and use various hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden banquettes, benches, and table tops Match materials for color, grain, and texture Set up and operate woodworking machines to cut and shape parts from wood stock Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit, using hand tools Glue, fit, and clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit Sand and scrape surfaces and joints of articles to prepare for finishing What you will bring to WCI High School Diploma or GED Proven experience as a carpenter Experience using a variety of woodworking equipment Experience using electrical and manual tools Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable Employment Type Full-time
