Client Manager- Senior Accountant

Logistis for Designers Provo, Utah

About Logistis for Designers

Logistis for Designers is a remote bookkeeping and accounting firm that works only with interior designers. We help design firms understand their numbers, price for profit, and run their businesses with confidence. Our clients use tools like Studio Designer, Houzz Pro and Programa alongside QuickBooks Online, and we know those workflows inside and out.
The Role
The Client Manager owns the relationship with a book of design-firm clients. You lead their monthly calls and translate their financials into plain language. You also manage a team of bookkeepers to make sure the work is accurate, on time and ready before you meet with the client. You are the link between the designer and our team. You keep the relationship strong, catch problems early, and spot when a client needs more support as the business grows.
We're looking for a senior accountant who loves working with clients. Beyond managing relationships, you'll be hands-on in onboarding new clients, cleaning up their books, and teaching designers and our team the best practices that keep their financials accurate.
What You'll Do
Client relationships and advisory

Serve as the main point of contact for your assigned clients, by email, phone and Zoom
Lead recurring monthly or quarterly calls to review financials, cash flow, AR/AP and project profitability, and to collect what's needed to close the books
Help designers understand their gross profit margin, markups and net income, and recommend changes when margins are low or the business is losing money
Answer workflow and best-practice questions about Studio Designer, Houzz Pro, Programa and QuickBooks Online, such as project statuses, purchase orders, client deposits, sales tax setup and the syncs between systems
Coordinate with clients' outside CPAs, payroll providers and software reps as needed
Pick up the phone. You don't hide behind email.
Onboarding, cleanup and best practices

Lead new-client kickoff and onboarding calls, and guide clients through the onboarding checklist
Secure access to QuickBooks, banks, payroll and sales tax accounts, and design-platform integrations
Run cleanup assessments, including QuickBooks and design-platform audits, and scope the catch-up work
Oversee mapping and setup of the design platform to QuickBooks, including sync start dates and the standard chart of accounts
Do and oversee hands-on books cleanup: reconciling accounts, fixing duplicated or miscategorized transactions, writing adjusting journal entries, and correcting prior-period sales tax and AR/AP balances
Teach designers best practices for their workflows in Studio Designer, Houzz Pro, Programa and QuickBooks, such as recording deposits, payments on purchase orders, sales tax and invoicing, through training calls and best-practice guides
Train and coach bookkeepers on cleanup, design-platform workflows and firm standards
Team leadership and quality

Manage a team of bookkeepers, including regular one-on-ones and monthly check-ins
Make sure the team prepares call-prep reports and financials before each client meeting
Do the final review of financial statements before they go to clients
Monitor Karbon for past-due work, unanswered client emails and outstanding uncategorized transactions, and hold the team accountable to deadlines
Work with our sales tax accountant to make sure filings and access requests are completed on time
Join the daily huddle, weekly team meeting, management meeting and client health score reviews
Payroll support

Support clients on Gusto payroll, including new employee setup, terminations and final paychecks, and resolving payroll and tax notices with the bookkeeping team
Billing and growth

Track and approve monthly billable (out-of-scope) time and invoices for your clients
Scope and prepare proposals for additional work, such as cleanup, procurement and consulting
Look for chances to expand services as a client's business grows or changes, for example moving from Entry to Elite, or adding payroll, procurement or CFO services
Track client health and flag accounts at risk early
Firm contribution

Help interview and train new team members
Help build and improve SOPs, Karbon templates and client resources
Requirements
What You Bring
5+ years of accounting experience at a senior accountant level, ideally at an accounting or bookkeeping firm
Proven experience with books cleanup and catch-up work, including reconciliations, adjusting journal entries and accrual-basis corrections
Experience onboarding new clients and teaching accounting best practices to people who aren't accountants
3+ years in a client-facing role, such as client management or account management
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and accrual-based financial statements. ProAdvisor certification is a plus.
Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to people who aren't accountants
Experience leading or mentoring a team, ideally remote or offshore bookkeepers
Highly organized, and able to juggle many clients and deadlines at once
Comfortable on Zoom and the phone all day. You enjoy client conversations.
Warm, direct and solution-focused. You're humble when you need to be and clear when it matters.
Bonus: experience with Studio Designer, Houzz Pro or Programa; Gusto; Karbon; multi-state sales tax; or the interior design industry
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or a related field, or equivalent experience
