Corporate Interior Designer

The responsibilities will include task management related to FFE and interior design documentation milestones to reach the successful completion of the project. • Assists architects and design team in space planning and furniture layouts that are functional and meet the criteria of the project program and design intent • Provides selections of furniture, fabric, carpet, interior finishes, art and accessories within the given budget to the project’s designated creative lead for their review and approval for implementation • Prepares and assembles FFE workbooks which include tear sheets, line drawings, quotations and sample requests in preparation for specification writing • Prepares custom furniture sketches, textile and carpet designs as needed for the project • Writes FFE specifications, assembles detailed information needed for selections, prepares detailed drawings of custom furnishings for integration in specification manuals • Prepares and issues specification binders and issues revisions under the direction of the project design lead • Ensures that the specified FFE conforms to the established FFE budget for the project • Prepares accurate and detailed room type matrices for a variety of hotel configurations, fully coordinated with the project FFE specification manual • In collaboration with the design team, prepares schedules relative to the interior design including colors and materials, decorative lighting, bath accessories door hardware, plumbing fixtures • Maintains accurate FFE documentation during the project for organizing and archiving “as-built/as-installed” final FFE project documentation for record • Reviews the FFE design and construction documentation (both drawings and specifications) and ensures that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings such as MEP, Specialty Lighting and Life Safety • Reviews furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy relative to design intent • Participates in QA/QC sessions and “page turns” occurring at documentation milestone dates • Fields communication via phone and email from Procurement Agent and answers questions related to specified FFE items • Assists with FFE procurement orders, tracking and expediting as-needed • Ensures that the projects are tracking to schedule and the project budget throughout all phases of the project • Reviews and approves shop drawings and submittals (relevant Contractor and FFE submittals) with underwritten approval by Senior Interior Designer and/or project creative lead • Responds to RFI’s related to interior design issues generated by Contractors and Vendors within the time frames allotted • Keeps Senior Designers and/or Project Managers informed of all requests for reselection or other requests for information from the Procurement Agent. • Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration. • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stoop, bend and crouch on a daily basis.
