Can you visualize changes to a floor plan—and then explain it clearly to a customer? Do you enjoy helping people make confident choices, all while keeping things on track?At Rock River Homes, we’re looking for a Design and Selections Advisor who can balance design creativity with structure and good judgment. You’ll guide homeowners through the selections process and help shape their home through smart, approved plan modifications. No “anything goes” customs here - but plenty of opportunity to use your design brain to make each home feel personal, functional, and beautiful.You’ll also handle design selections for our inventory (spec) homes, helping us showcase thoughtful design even when no customer is involved.What You’ll Do:Collaborate with customers to guide them through the selections process using company standards and toolsCustomize our existing plans by making approved changes based on customer needs and your design expertiseVisualize and explain spatial changes clearly, both internally and to customersWork with the drafting team to translate customer ideas into clear, buildable drawingsCreate selections for spec homes that align with our brand and design styleDocument all decisions accurately and use our ERP system, Thread Kore, to keep everything organized and communicated across departmentsSupport customers with common sense solutions—offering alternatives when needed and knowing when to say no with professionalismYou’ll be a great fit if you:Love design but don’t need total creative freedom to be satisfiedHave a good eye, strong spatial thinking, and practical instinctsEnjoy helping customers feel confident without getting overwhelmedBring structure to your work and communicate clearly with multiple teamsLike solving problems, thinking critically, and figuring things out as you goAre comfortable learning new systems and keeping detailed recordsWhat You Bring:Experience in residential interior design, plan development, or selections coordinationConfidence reading and making changes to floor plansFamiliarity with tools like AutoCAD, 20/20 Design,Revit, or similar design softwareStrong communication skills and customer service instinctsComfort with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and learning new platforms like Thread KoreA collaborative spirit and a steady, professional presenceOur Core Values:Do the Right Thing – It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.Show Empathy – Listen, seek to understand, act.Always Improve – Keep learning, keep growing.Have Fun – Good energy builds great things.Find a Way – No roadblocks, just detours.At Rock River Homes, we believe every home should feel well-designed and well-executed.
