Design Assistant

The candidate should have excellent attention to detail, be highly organized, and possess strong communication skills. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field Prior design, architecture, or related internship experience preferred (3+ year required for Junior Designer) Strong proficiency in design and presentation software, including Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp Familiarity with Studio Designer a plus Strong creative, organizational, and time-management skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently while taking direction and feedback effectively Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Client-service mindset with empathy and professionalism Collaborative, enthusiastic team player willing to support the broader studio Interest in learning and growing within a high-end residential design environment Access to a car preferred Support design operations for the design team, including vendor communication and quote processing Assist in the design process by creating initial concepts, sketches, layouts, and visual studies under direction Research design trends, materials, finishes, and color schemes Source fabrics and materials based on client input and design direction Order samples, produce sample boards, and assist with material presentations Create and maintain finish schedules and furniture schedules Verify sourcing details, including dimensions, material suitability, pricing, and budget alignment Apply judgment when reviewing costs and selections, escalating questions as needed Assist with creating and revising space plans, keeping drawings up to date with decisions Maintain organized project files and accurate documentation Maintain the sample library and ensure samples are logged, organized, and up to date Keep an updated log of samples in the sample tracker Support overall studio organization and upkeep related to design materials
