Role Description This part-time, on-site Design Assistant/AutoCAD Drafter role is based in Sebastopol, CA. The role involves preparing and updating AutoCAD drawings, lighting plans, and design documentation under the direction of the lead designer. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design concepts into detailed technical drawings, assisting with interior lighting layouts, and supporting graphic presentation materials for client meetings. The Design Assistant/AutoCAD Drafter will help organize project files, maintain documentation standards, and occasionally assist with client communication and project coordination. The position offers hands-on experience in lighting and interior design within a collaborative studio environment.

Qualifications

Strong communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.Foundational knowledge of interior design, with an interest in lighting design and spatial planning.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), particularly AutoCAD, for creating and revising technical drawings and lighting plans.Graphic design skills to support visual presentations, diagrams, and clear documentation of design concepts.Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Comfort working on-site in Sebastopol, CA and collaborating closely with a small design team.Relevant education or training in interior design, architecture, drafting, or a related field is preferred.Prior experience in design studios, architectural offices, or drafting roles is beneficial but not required.
