NOSO Design House | Charlotte, NC
NOSO Design House is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable Design & Operations Assistant to join our growing team. This is a dynamic, hands-on position supporting the Owners of NOSO Design House and working across both the interior design and luxury home staging sides of our business.
This is not a narrowly defined administrative role. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. On any given day, this person may be assisting with an interior design project, coordinating details for an upcoming staging installation, communicating with a client or vendor, organizing samples and materials, helping prepare a proposal, or jumping in wherever the team needs additional support.
The right person will be exceptionally organized, have serious attention to detail, communicate professionally, and take pride in seeing things through from start to finish. Because this role works closely with both the creative and operational sides of NOSO, the ability to shift priorities, anticipate needs, and stay composed in a fast-moving environment is essential.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the business and may include:
Provide day-to-day support to NOSO's Owners across a wide range of business, project, and administrative needs
Provide personal assistant support to the Owners as needed; the nature and extent of these responsibilities will vary and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, capabilities, and the overall needs of the business
Assist with both interior design and home staging projects from planning through execution
Help coordinate staging installations, removals, renewals, schedules, inventory needs, and project logistics
Assist with organizing and sourcing furniture, lighting, accessories, materials, finishes, and other project selections
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, builders, real estate agents, and other project partners
Request and organize quotes, pricing, product information, lead times, samples, and order details
Maintain organized project files, schedules, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
Assist with preparing client presentations, proposals, invoices, and project materials
Track project details and follow up on outstanding items to help ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Help coordinate deliveries, receiving, installations, site visits, and other project-related logistics
Maintain organization of samples, materials, inventory, and studio resources
Assist with general office and administrative responsibilities as needed
Support marketing, events, business development, and other company initiatives when needed
Occasionally travel to support interior design projects, site visits, installations, and other project needs in the Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach markets
Be willing to step outside of a traditional job description and help wherever necessary to keep projects and the business moving forward
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who is naturally organized and genuinely enjoys creating order in a busy environment. You notice the small things, follow through without needing constant reminders, and are comfortable managing several priorities at once.
You should be:
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
Extremely detail-oriented and attentive to accuracy
A strong and professional written and verbal communicator
Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
Resourceful and capable of figuring things out independently
Comfortable receiving direction from and working closely with two business owners
Able to prioritize and reprioritize as the needs of projects change
Dependable, responsive, and accountable
Comfortable interacting with clients and representing NOSO professionally
Collaborative, positive, and willing to jump in wherever needed
Comfortable working in an environment where no two days necessarily look the same
Interested in interior design, home furnishings, real estate, luxury service, or a related field
Comfortable with occasional travel as project and business needs require
Experience & Qualifications
Previous professional experience in a related role is preferred but not necessarily required for the right candidate. Experience working within an interior design firm is particularly valuable, as familiarity with the pace, processes, vendors, sourcing, project coordination, and day-to-day needs of a design studio would allow someone to step into the role more quickly.
Experience in home staging, architecture, luxury residential construction, real estate, project coordination, or another design-related environment would also be beneficial.
Proficiency with Canva, Microsoft Office, and similar business and creative software is strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong general computer skills and be comfortable learning new platforms and systems as needed.
A thorough working knowledge of major social media platforms is also valuable. The person in this role should be comfortable assisting with the creation, organization, coordination, and execution of social media and marketing content when needed.
Above all, we're looking for someone with the right combination of organization, attention to detail, communication skills, initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
The Role
This position is ideal for someone who wants exposure to the full operation of a growing interior design and luxury home staging company rather than being limited to one specific function. You'll work closely with NOSO's leadership and design team and gain hands-on experience across client service, interior design, staging, sourcing, project coordination, logistics, operations, marketing, and business administration.
While the position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, NOSO's interior design practice also serves clients in the Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach markets. As a result, occasional travel to those areas may be required for site visits, project installations, client needs, and other design-related work.
Because this role works closely with the Owners, it may also include a personal assistant component. The scope of those responsibilities is intentionally flexible and will depend on the experience and strengths of the person hired, as well as the evolving needs of the business.
We're looking for someone who can become a trusted extension of our team—someone we can confidently tackle initiatives with, knowing they will pay attention to the details, ask the right questions, follow through to completion, and maintain the level of service and professionalism our clients expect from NOSO.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
