Role Description The Designer Experience Hardwood Floor Sales role is a full-time, on-site and outside position based in Solana Beach CA. This role focuses on guiding clients through the hardwood flooring selection process, providing design recommendations, and presenting product options tailored to project needs and aesthetic preferences. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with walk-in and appointment clients, preparing quotes and invoices, managing orders, and coordinating with installation and operations teams to ensure project accuracy. The role also includes maintaining showroom displays, staying current on product lines and industry trends, following up on leads, and providing ongoing support to designers, contractors, and homeowners. The position requires consistent collaboration with internal teams and clear, professional communication with clients from initial inquiry through project completion.

Qualifications

Ability to provide design-focused consultation, including understanding of interior design principles, color coordination, and spatial planning related to hardwood flooring.Strong customer service and sales skills, with experience in relationship-based selling, lead follow-up, and closing sales in a showroom or design environment.Solid organizational and administrative capabilities, including managing quotes, orders, documentation, and coordination with operations and installation teams.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present product options clearly and collaborate with designers, contractors, and homeowners.Comfort with basic digital tools and point-of-sale systems for managing client information, pricing, and scheduling.Prior experience in flooring, interior design, home improvement, or a related field is highly beneficial.Ability to work on-site in Solana Beach CA, including standing for extended periods and safely moving product samples as needed.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in design, sales, or related disciplines is a plus.
