You Will Do This By • Designing simple components, assemblies or tooling • Producing and modifying basic 3D models and detail drawings • Processing ECNs, with marked up drawings and bills of materials as needed • Redesigning components and assemblies for functional improvements or cost reductions • Reviewing parts for production based on inspection reports • Checking basic models and prints for proper use of modeling techniques and design standards • Ensuring the New Product Development process is being followed at all times Additional Knowledge & Skills • Visual acuity and design techniques to produce workable 3D layouts for new designs • Ability to calculate dimensions as required for accurate and complete layouts • Proficient in math, including trigonometry • Familiar with some physical properties of materials and the relative cost of materials • Basic understanding of standards and applications in an engineering environment • Familiar with some manufacturing processes and assembly techniques • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
