Designer - Workplace Interiors - Mid Level

Gensler Tampa, Florida

You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions and coordinate design through the construction documentation and administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. What You Will Do • Collaborate on base building, interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedules • Design and deliver functional and beautiful spaces for projects within Practice Areas such as: Healthcare, Sciences, Office Developers, Workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms and Professional Services Firms, Strategy, Cities and Urban Design and more • Develop building core and enclosure systems • Advise clients and team about the building and zoning codes • Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges • Maintain project manual and specifications • Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction • Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships • Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD + 3-D, Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino or other visualization software • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX a plus • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures • Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus • Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills • Must be on a path to become a Registered Architect • LEED accreditation is a plus • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; If possible, portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview As part of the firm’s commitment to licensure and professional development, Gensler offers reimbursement for certain professional licenses and associated renewals and exam fees.
