Designer – Workplace Interiors – Junior

As a Gensler Designer with our team in Washington, D.C., your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our incredible clients. Your Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture from an accredited program • 3-6 years of professional experience with commercial architecture & design firms; inclusive of at least 1 year of workplace (office) interior architecture and interior design projects • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D and other modeling software programs • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SPEXX a plus • Knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials • Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas • Ability to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly • A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment • Leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview • *The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, with final compensation contingent on relevant experience.
