Furniture Sales and Design Consultants are part of a high-performance sales force that is responsible for engaging customers, listening to their furniture needs, offering knowledgeable recommendations, and providing an exciting shopping experience. • Uses computer database to research availability of merchandise and status of orders to assist customers • Maintain assigned area of showroom • All design consultants will share the responsibility of assisting with non-selling duties such as organization of sales floor and sales related housekeeping responsibilities • Adhere to company policy requiring all design consultants to work their scheduled hours • Work a schedule of assigned shifts and hours • Ability to have flexibility with a work schedule to meet customers’ needs • Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and Qualifications: • High School Diploma or Higher Education • Interior Design Certification or design experience; sales experience preferred • Computer skills necessary; ability to work with company computer software • Excellent listening and communication skills • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form • Ability to space plan • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen • Provide and maintain valid driver’s license and auto insurance for company record keeping The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
