Home Furnishings Sales Associates - Part Time at The Nest Egg

The Nest Egg, a locally owned specialty home furnishings store, is expanding and currently interviewing for part-time home furnishings sales associates for our store in Fairfax for various shifts including daytime, evenings and weekends (all associates must work some weekend hours but we do have furniture sales primary daytime shifts available). Located in the Fairfax Corner shopping center for 15 years, The Nest Egg focuses on domestic made upholstered furniture and case goods as well as imported accent furniture and accessories and a large selection of gift items. Ideal candidates will have a background in design or furniture sales not limited to upholstered furniture, rugs, art and lighting. - making suggestions on fabric, pattern and color suggestions as well as styles of furniture and coordinating rugs, art and lighting - ability to learn basic floor plan design software to assist with layouts and scale - generating sales and working with store manager to meet sales goals - attending required sales and vendor training - welcoming customers and assisting them with purchases by making suggestions as needed on various gift categories including tabletop, home, baby and more - working at the front counter, performing computerized sales transactions and wrapping merchandise - helping to maintain store appearance through merchandising, restocking and cleaning as necessary - following store procedures for sales, merchandising, restocking, etc. - excellent communication and sales skills - must have strong attention to detail - must be punctual and reliable - must be able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment (work with customers, ring sales, take orders, answer phones, etc.)
