Interior Design Assistant (Long Beach, CA)

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. In this role, you will support the Planning Section under the supervision of the VA Supervisory Interior Designer, where you will develop objectives, manage tasks, and independently execute assignments. Assist contracted and VA Interior Designers in delivering design solutions for offices, conference rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, waiting areas, lobbies, break rooms, cafes, storage areas, and support spaces.Perform technical, administrative, and professional work supporting facility operations, safety, and interior environments that promote productivity and wellbeing.Prepare detailed AutoCAD designs, plans, sketches, perspectives, color schemes, and presentation materials.Analyze architectural drawings and develop Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) plans, including layouts, materials, and traffic flow.Interpret and review architectural plans for compliance with VA standards and specifications.Develop procurement packages including Statements of Work (SOW), technical specifications, drawings, cost estimates, bid sheets, and budgets.Manage financial tracking, vendor coordination, and delivery and installation schedules.Maintain project documentation, schedules, logs, drawings, and market research using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.Maintain the Interior Design Resource Library and manage activation orders for furnishings, equipment, signage, and supplies.Support installation oversight, move planning, scheduling, and project meetings.Review installation plans, direct installation crews, and create and manage punch lists.Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, VA Technical Information Library (TIL), ICC, OSHA, and NFPA standards.Coordinate with stakeholders including Contracting, Logistics, Environmental Management Service, Office of Information Technology, Material Management, end users, and Engineering teams.Assist with activation scheduling, reporting, transition planning, operational assessments, and workflow improvements.Document meeting notes and prepare design-related materials for stakeholder discussions.Qualifications to be successful in the role: Joining the Planate team opens you to an experience working for a Global company where you are among a team that is considered a premier trusted partner for planning, design, engineering, asset management, and professional service solutions anytime, anywhere.
