Interior Design Assistant

We are looking for an upbeat and professional interior design assistant to join our team. You will work directly with the lead designer of a small residential interior design firm on all facets and phases of design projects, as well as assist in the operation of the design office. This position requires someone who is a great communicator, organized, and eager to learn. We are looking for someone who loves to collaborate, is current on the latest trends in the design industry, is detail oriented, and self-motivated. REQUIREMENTS: Associates/Bachelor degree in Interior Design At least 1-2 years interior design experience Experienced in sourcing materials, furnishings and accessories - showrooms and online Must have your own reliable transportation and computer equipment Must be able to work in office with Principal and remotely Must be able to lift 25 – 30 pounds SOFTWARE: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks a plus Knowledge of 3D modeling program Revit a plus ​ JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist in the design process on both construction and decorating residential projects Attend site visits with principal to take notes, measurements and photos Draft floor plans, elevations, and furniture plans Schedule and prepare for client meetings and presentations Source materials, products, furniture, finishes, accessories, lighting, hardware, from industry vendors and online retailers Assist in preparing design presentations (concepts, material, and finish boards) Request samples, quotes, pricing, lead times and freight costs for furnishings and materials selected Assist with preparation of client invoices, purchasing, and follow-up Assist at site visits, client and vendor meetings, deliveries, installations, and photoshoots Travel to pick up samples and return un-used items General design business upkeep, including developing and implementing office processes, and general designer assistance
