Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPerformance Objectives & Targets: The position involves assisting Interior Designers as required. The primary focus of the Assistant is to work closely with Interior Designers to research, select, and order a wide variety of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) as well as construction materials. The Assistant is responsible for contacting vendors and obtaining quotes and product samples. Administrative tasks include scheduling meetings, corresponding with the client and on-site project managers, filing, maintenance of the product libraries, and general office procedures.Major Duties: Work on multiple projects simultaneously, including assisting the Interior Designers as directedProduce Design Requisitions as directed by the Interior DesignersAdhere to schedules and ensure deadlines are metAssist the Interior Designers with compiling budgetsObtaining quotes and material samples from vendorsLiaise with HPI's Purchasing department and review project material trackersOccasionally, Assistants may be asked to travel to job sites to assist in project installations and property inspection reportsJob Requirements & Competencies: Qualifications: Associate Degree in Interior Design (preferred), or a degree in Business Administration or Management StudiesSkills: The Assistant must have good organizational skills, be self-motivated, have energy for a fast-paced office, and have the ability to adapt to a changing environmentManagerial: None.
