As an Interior Design Consultant at Lekker Home, you’ll have the opportunity to work with top modern furniture and décor brands, while helping clients create spaces they love. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team, servicing clients in both the A+D Trade (Architecture & Design) and residential sectors.In this role, you will focus on building and maintaining client relationships, promoting our product portfolio, and driving sales within the interior design and architecture community, playing a key role in meeting our sales targets and contributing to the overall growth of the company. This role reports to the Sales Manager and collaborates closely with the entire Sales Team.This is an on-premise position based at our showroom in Boston’s South End.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship ManagementDevelop and cultivate strong relationships with interior designers, architects, and design firms, serving as their primary point of contact.Assist residential clients with floor plans, furniture selections, and finish recommendations.Initiate outreach to generate new business, including making introductory calls, sending targeted emails, and networking with potential clients in the interior design and architecture community to create new opportunities.Proactively follow up with customers through phone calls, emails, or personalized notes to nurture relationships and encourage repeat business.Provide exceptional customer service, including regular order status updates, prompt issue resolution, and post-delivery support.Work with clients to understand project requirements and provide accurate, timely quotations.Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling various payment methods such as cash and credit cards.Present our products to both design professionals and residential clients, highlighting features, quality, and suitability for different projects.Collaborate with the design community to understand their needs, provide product recommendations, and offer tailored solutions.Work closely with other sales team members to develop and execute targeted marketing strategies and initiatives aimed at reaching interior designers and architects.Industry EngagementStay updated on industry trends, design projects, and events to identify potential customers and sales opportunities.Attend industry events and networking opportunities to connect with interior designers and architects, while promoting our A+D Trade Program.Showroom OperationsMaintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and project leads.Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually appealing, ensuring all products are properly labeled and displayed.Assist with general showroom operations, including packing, shipping, and participating in quarterly inventories.Additional ResponsibilitiesManage delivery logistics, coordinating schedules and ensuring smooth communication with clients regarding order status.Work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule to meet the demands of the showroom and client needs.Qualifications & Skills2+ years of professional work experience, preferably in design sales, interior design, architecture, or related industries.Proven track record of building relationships and selling products or services to interior designers and architects.Strong understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and materials relevant to the interior design and architecture industry.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.Self-motivated, results-oriented, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Familiarity with design software, such as AutoCAD or 3D modeling tools, is a plus.Strong Apple/Mac skills and proficient in Google Workspace suite.CompensationCompetitive compensation based on experience.Paid Time Off401(k) Retirement Benefits with generous Company MatchHealth Savings Accounts (HSA)Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountYearly Furniture CreditProfessional development opportunities, and moreNot necessary but if you possess the following skill sets or attributes, we want to hear about it:Degree in interior design or related fieldPrevious experience working in an interior design, architectural firm, design showroomExperience with selling custom furniture, luxury goods, or made to order items.Familiarity with Interior Design Software; Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. ), SketchUp Pro, CAD, Revit, etc.We have a soft spot for Dutch but any additional languages to English are always of interest.If you are a driven sales professional with a passion for design and building relationships within the interior design and architecture industry, we invite you to apply for the Interior Design Consultant position.
