Description: We are seeking one exemplary intern whose work ethic demonstrates their commitment to excelling in a career in interior design. Candidates should be articulate in expressing ideas and in the execution of their work. Good listening skills are key. The candidate should be a team oriented person with a professional and positive attitude and excited to learn.
While at J/Brice, interns may expect to assist on many levels including:
Creation and Revisions to Construction Documents (plans for Demolition, Construction, Reflected Ceiling, Power, Finish, Details and Schedules) in AutoCAD.
Assist in scheme selections (fabric, wallcovering, architectural materials, lighting, furniture etc.)
Creation of graphic presentations using Power Points, Sketchup and Photoshop
Creation of physical material framed boards
Writing of Specifications, Budget spread sheets and Purchase Orders in Excel format
Calling/meeting with sales reps to obtain samples, data and pricing for products
Attending Lunch and Learn presentations of products and services
Library Sourcing and Filing
Three months is a fairly short time in the scheme of things, however our internship program gives students a glimpse into the machinations of life in a busy small office. And the multi-tasking associate with being an effective designer. I am confident that every one of the students who have come through our program get a pretty good taste of what it’s like “out there” and often times we scan our intern pool to fill future full time positions. Bonus’ are possible to be earned.
