Interior Design Project Manager

We are considering both project-based and full-time involvement for this position. Our studio is located in Potrero Hill with a close proximity to SF Design District. We are looking for a motivated self-starter, who is comfortable wearing many hats, to support our growing team. R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S • Working under the direction of the Design Team Manager, you will be accountable for project management from design concept to completion • Oversee the Designers to make sure they are meeting deadlines, and completing projects effectively and accurately • Maintain positive client relationships throughout project. • Initiate and maintain contact with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues • Manage client expectations with regard to project scope, budget and schedule to ensure the client understands the services Studio AHEAD will provide, and the time frame in which they will be provided • Work within project/construction schedules to keep projects on schedule • Oversee the design team to ensure successful outcome of all projects and provide assistance with project deliverables as needed • Optimize processes across the design team to streamline systems and develop more efficient workflows • Responsible for delivering a complete design package—including schedules and drawings—accurately and on time • Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, lighting and finishes • Troubleshoot with contractors, architects as needed • Product Development: Assist Principal and design team with development of proprietary branded merchandise and furnishings • Coordinate with manufactures to ensure proper execution of design concepts, pricing, and deliverables, as requested • Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including but not limited to architects; structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, and various specialty consultants • Observe and report on the implementation of projects and punch list items while in progress and upon completion, as a representative of and on behalf of the client • Assist at client meetings as requested to provide service and amenities to clients • Track time daily and noting billable hours S K I L L S • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related experience • Minimum of 4 years interior design experience • Minimum of 2 years project management experience • AsanaStudio Designer knowledge is a plus • Advanced knowledge of design principles and the ability to interpret design concepts and layouts, including commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the profession • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models • Advanced knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness • Advanced knowledge of furniture types, vendors, fixtures and equipment, architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent • Excellent presentation skills, including space planning and drawing • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketch-Up • Ability to read a set of construction documents and section details • Ability to create and manage Excel/Google spreadsheets • Proficiency in of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn timekeeping and billing software • Design operations experience • Ability to interact effectively with the design team on multiple projects • Experience with purchasing and budgets • Knowledge of trade resources and vendors, SF Design Center a plus • High level of attention to detail and follow-up • Self-starter with the ability to work productively and collaboratively with minimal supervision • Valid California driver’s license, access to automobile • Enjoy working with others, team player
