Working directly with the Principal of the firm, Jill Litner Kaplan, the job of the Interior Design Project Manager is to offer clients full-service interior design services, complete project support and hands-on management. Experience using Google SketchUp, reading architectural plans and managing construction details is a must. Having a passion for design, a commitment to excellence, and an enthusiastic and upbeat personality are all keys to success in this firm. Position requires 3-5 years industry experience, (working in a design, architecture or construction firm). Ability to manage multiple and complex projects during all phases simultaneously, and possess excellent communication skills, as the IDPM will be working very closely with clients, vendors and contractors, each of whom has their own style and unique personality.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT-Comprehensive, full support and management of all projects being executed. Work in conjunction with full suite of players associated with each project-from showrooms and vendors, to architects, builders, millworkers, sewing and upholstery workrooms, and receivers to implement all project initiatives. Create, utilize and update Excel spreadsheets to monitor all aspects of projects. Eg: Fabric and furniture by room and by application; Paint colors; Lighting; Plumbing; Client Funds; Order Status; Product Inventory, etc.
INTERIOR DESIGN--Read and interpret architectural plans in order to do furniture layouts by room and space planning. Create paint schedule for paint color palette selection. Create floor plans and do elevations of cabinetry using Google Sketch-Up. Fabric search: creation of fabric stories. Selection and application of custom drapery, bedding and pillows. Furniture search and selection. Custom furniture design-details and renderings. Lighting selection and application. Kitchen and bathroom design: Stone and tile selection for flooring, bathrooms, slabs and countertops. Cabinetry material, finish and door style specification. Plumbing selection.
