Interior Design Project Manager

Our Dupont Circle studio is currently seeking a full-time, experienced, Design Project Manager with a successful track record in high-end design project management. The role requires the project manager to work well both independently and within our team (Design and Operations... We nurture, collaborate, and have a positive team culture at our firm. Qualifications: • 4+ years of experience in the field of Interior Design • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture or related field • Experience managing complex Interior Design Projects • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) • Thorough knowledge of building codes • Ability to coordinate and review a complete set of contract documents • Purchasing/Procurement experience • Excellent project management, organizational, and customer service skills • Outstanding problem-solving abilities • Professional, friendly, and polished verbal and written communication with a • strong attention to detail • Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred (Sketchup and/or Chief Architect experience is a plus) • Proficiency in IVY Software is a plus • Proficiency with Mac is preferred • Work directly with contractors and trades to ensure coordination and implementation of IM design details during construction • Assist Design team with creating and maintaining detailed finish schedules • Assist Design team with creating and maintaining detailed project and contractor spec books/binders • Assist Director of Operations in coordinating installation days with trades, vendors, and clients • Perform QA/QC for studio's client and vendor deliverables • Manage all deficiencies resolutions for both construction and furnishings and décor deliverables • Communicate with trades, vendors and partners throughout the design development phase to design, price, and verify details, drawings, specs, and pricing • Maintain biweekly update emails to clients • Create client proposals, invoices, and purchase orders • Assist Director of Operations with the procurement process – tracking purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, updating clients and trades with ETA’s • Assist in managing external accountant/bookkeeper • Assist Principal and Director of Operations with studio management • Possible assistance with drafting (AutoCAD and Chief Architect) This is a full-time opportunity with a minimum of 40 hours/week required.
