As an Interior Designer, you will create functional, safe and inviting interiors by determining space requirements and selecting furnishings and materials. This position requires coordinating and overseeing the work of others to develop and deliver built projects through all phases of design and construction. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conceptual building design and space planning • Graphic design of client presentations utilizing Sketchup, Adobe Suite or Revit • Assist as needed with client consultations to determine functional and spatial requirements • Document information regarding design, specifications, materials, finishes, color, furniture & equipment • Insures that all material selections meet all appropriate building codes and governing requirements • Develop finish & furnishing schemes that are practical, aesthetic and conducive to intended purposes – present design for client approval • Coordinate as needed to review, develop and present presentation drawings • Assists in the preparation of construction documents as needed • Assist in overseeing installations of FF&E; and design intent during construction – Develop final punch list • Oversee directing activities of Interior Design Interns • Marketing through current leads, business/industry groups • Oversee and participates in the organization and managed growth of the Interior Materials Library • Stays updated with the latest trends in Interior Design by attending product presentations, industry gatherings and reviewing product literature QUALIFICATIONS: • 5+ years of related working experience is required • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited college or university • NCIDQ certified or working towards certification • LEED certified or working toward certification • Thorough knowledge of IBC codes – ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical codes including; state building code, energy code, fire code and local zoning code • Documentation knowledge – ability to create, select, evaluate, and implement architectural details, procedures and techniques used to complete project documents at all phases of a project • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
