About the position The Interior Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and selecting finishes for residential and commercial spaces damaged by fire, water, mold, or other insured perils. • Create mood boards, color palettes, and renderings or sketches as needed • Document and specify products, finishes, and design intent for approval by stakeholders • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and installers to ensure execution of design specifications • Ensure selections comply with insurance allowances, Xactimate estimates, and local building codes • Assist with product sourcing and procurement • Visit job sites to ensure quality, accuracy, and client satisfaction throughout the build process • Maintain organized project records, selections, and communications in company systems • Coordinate with vendors and sales reps to obtain up-to-date catalogs, pricing, and sample boards. Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field • 2+ years of design experience; restoration or insurance industry experience strongly preferred • Working knowledge of construction materials, finishes, and building codes • Understanding of Xactimate or willingness to learn • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Highly organized with attention to detail and timelines • Ability to work with emotionally distressed clients under challenging circumstances • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers. • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
