Interior Designer

POSITION TITLE: Interior Designer I REPORTS TO: Design Director EDUCATION: Professional Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) track POSITION LOCATION: Knoxville, TN ABOUT LDG: Lauderdale Design Group is a full-service interior design firm. We manage each project to the program, design objectives, budget and schedule and believe that project governance and stewardship are equal to design quality. Interior Designer I Role:  Develops and communicates design ideas quickly  Researches, interviews, and negotiates with vendors to obtain prices and product specifications  Develops budgets and coordinates materials and drawings for presentations  Draws and coordinates interior design drawings and construction document packages  Designs collages and concept layouts  Effectively applies project standards and quality assurance procedures  Ensures issued documents are completed accurately and on time Project Team Member Role:  Serves as key point of contact and direct link to the client on behalf of the firm  Assists with generating estimates and managing delivery and installation of FF&A; items  Assists in setting internal deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring and summarizing progress through completion of project  Cooperatively and professionally participates in project team and client meetings  Assures conformance with contractual obligations and ensures that the design, specifications, drawings, and other work are reviewed and approved, prior to release to the client  Controls project costs by ensuring that design practices, design approach, and quality of materials are compatible with contractual agreements  Accepts responsibility for issuing and/or posting accurate project documents, in accordance with project requirements and deadlines TRAITS/QUALIFICATIONS:  Possesses a strong identity in interior design and creative capability  Communicates clearly and concisely  Possesses strong written and oral communication skills  Exhibits effective time management skills and prioritizes multiple project tasks  Demonstrates strong problem solving skills  Possesses a sense of urgency and sensitivity to client needs  Team player JOB REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:  Previous professional experience in a design firm or close disciplinary setting  Microsoft Office Suite  Autodesk: AutoCAD and Revit  Adobe Suite: InDesign and Photoshop  Digital rendering capability  Hand sketching
