As a member of our team you'll enjoy excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, and an encouraging culture that supports work / life balance.Interior Designer IIReports to: Interior Design ManagerDepartment: DesignJob Status: Full Time, Salary, Level 9Mobility Profile: On LocationPosition Summary: This position will aid in the design of on trend, affordable housing in an exciting, fast-paced, team-oriented environment by working with architects, engineers, vendors, and home-building facilities nationwide.Duties / Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with home building facilities.Work with architects and engineers during the initial design phase to create, renovate, or modify spaces to meet design standards and building codes.Enhance the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior spaces.Work with vendors to select and develop materials; including flooring, carpet, paint, cabinetry, etc.Choose color palettes and create color stories for presentations.Plan architectural detail such as crown molding, cabinet designs, accents, special features, etc.Read and interpret floorplans and drawing packages.Purchase artwork, decor items and furniture for specialty projects that involve other departments.Aid in planning budget estimations for projectsDraw up floor plans and sketches for design concepts and visuals.Create furniture layouts for new floorplan designs.Prepare working drawings, designs, details and plans often, but not always, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software.Stay up to date on current trends in the design industry.Design Workroom UpkeepPlan, coordinate, and help execute ACE Program by following curriculum providedOther responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications: 5-7 years Interior Design experience.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels within the organization.Ability to build relationships with vendors and clients.Strong presentation skills required using PowerPoint or equivalentWorking knowledge of current architecture, construction, and design industries.An awareness of building and safety regulations and codes.Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.Strong attention to detail.Creative problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team of other professionals.Ability to quickly adapt in a fast paced enviornmentPhysical Demands: Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person.
