Interior Designer III - Buildings + Places

The responsibilities of this position include, but my not be limited to, the following: • Initiate and develop design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline leads • Under minimal supervision, develop complex interior design drawings • Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions • Review discipline supplier documents and other discipline’s supplier documents for accuracy • Perform thorough and accurate material take-offs for the discipline • Prepare designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures • Review completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data • Understand and assist with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project • Interpret industry codes, permits, and standards, and ensures design and drawing compliance • Field visits and site surveys • Construction phase services including review of shop drawings and submittals, and field reports • Collaborate on project teams that may include Interior Designers, Architects, Engineers, Cost Estimators, Project Administrators, Contractors, and Clients • Provide mentorship to junior staff Qualifications AECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
