Following the successful opening of our Naples showroom in January 2025, Walter E. Smithe Furniture & Design is continuing to grow and is seeking experienced Design Sales Consultants to join our expanding team.
This is an exciting opportunity for accomplished design professionals to combine their passion for design, client relationships, and consultative selling while building a successful business. With our growing Naples showroom, we're looking for experienced professionals who are passionate about creating beautiful spaces and delivering an outstanding client experience.
What you'll do:

Partner with clients to design inspiring spaces that reflect their lifestyle and visionBuild lasting client relationships through personalized service and outreachConduct in-home visits and use advanced design tools to bring concepts to lifePrimarily custom and special order, including private label brands, as well as Century, American Leather, Vanguard, Hancock & Moore, Universal, Hooker, and many others.Manage multiple projects while achieving individual sales goalsCollaborate with a dedicated support team of client service, accounting, and delivery professionals Training & Support: We invest in your success with a career-focused training program: Comprehensive training that develops design & sales expertise, software proficiency, and project management skillsOngoing coaching and mentorship to help you grow and succeed over timeHourly paid training for up to the first 4 months, with the option to transition to commission soonerStructured learning combined with hands-on experience in a real showroom environment Compensation & Benefits:Performance-based commission structure after training with uncapped earning potentialCommission paid on written salesMonthly and annual performance-based bonusesTypical earnings range: $40K - $185K+ (performance-based)Average commission: 7.71% (6.7%-8.6%)Bonus opportunitiesMedical, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance401kPTO, flexible schedules, and employee discountsClear career path with opportunities for growth, advancement, and leadership Requirements Who thrives in this role:People-driven professionals energized by client engagement and relationship building3+ years of post-grad experience in retail, sales, or interior design with consultative sales expertiseConfident, enthusiastic individuals capable of leading the sales processMotivated by results and excited by a performance-based career pathOrganized, professional, and committed to building a long-term design careerValid driver's license, reliable transportation, and weekend availability Salary Description $40,000 - $185,000
