INTERIOR DESIGNER/PROJECT MANAGER

INTERIOR DESIGNER/PROJECT MANAGER Shannon Scott Design is an ethical and sustainably focused interior design and interior architecture studio based in Santa Barbara, California. We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Interior Designer/Project Manager, with at least 5 years of professional experience working in luxury residential and hospitality design. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in luxury residential and hospitality design • Professional Degree in Interior Design and/or Interior Architecture • Outstanding technical skills in AutoCAD and hand drawing (3 years minimum) • Adobe Creative Suite and 3D rendering experience preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Working knowledge of Studio Designer is desired • Expertise in interior design project management, with outstanding organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects across various phases • Advanced knowledge of interiors and architectural building materials and finishes, building systems, specifications, current and applicable building, fire, and safety codes, ADA compliance, design and detailing standards, and construction techniques • Advanced knowledge of interior architecture and architectural design, including design concept development (residential and hospitality), space planning, custom cabinetry and millwork design, design documentation, construction documentation, and construction administration • High level of product knowledge and ability to research, source, and specify finishes, materials, and furnishings in a variety of design aesthetics and budgets • Strong experience and ability to manage and produce a full set of construction drawings and specifications • Collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible, with outstanding written and verbal communication and listening skills • Excellent client service skills and well versed in interfacing with clients, consultants, and vendors • Extremely professional, reliable, and committed to a strong work ethic • Must live in Santa Barbara or Ventura Counties; position will be working full-time in the studio • US citizen, valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable vehicle ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, produce, and manage all contract documents and deliverables including design concepts and presentations, construction drawings, and finish and material schedules, matrices, specifications • Research and source materials and furnishings, develop custom furniture and millwork designs • Prepare quotes, budgets, proposals, specifications, and purchase orders; manage site installations • Provide construction administration: site visits and verifications, respond to RFI’s, review samples and shop drawings, coordinate with architect, contractor, fabricators, and vendors, and complete final punch list • Manage project communications and submittals, ensuring on time delivery of all contract documents • Attend client and project meetings and presentations BENEFITS • Competitive salary based on professional experience and expertise • Health insurance • Paid time off, holidays, end of year studio closure, and sick days • Simple IRA retirement program • Full-time, long term position, with opportunity for professional growth • Pleasant working environment, in a beautiful studio, with an innovative and collaborative team INQUIRIES Qualified candidates, please email the following: • Cover letter, resume, and portfolio • Subject line to read: (Your Name) - Interior Designer/Project Manager Position • Describe why you feel your skills and attributes would be a great addition to our team and studio • Portfolio to include samples of your AutoCAD, hand drawing, and interior design work (PDF attachment or online link) • No walk- ins or telephone calls, please ABOUT US Shannon Scott Design provides a full- service design approach, and an elevated client experience, that prioritizes collaboration, communication, and design prowess.
