Interior Designer/Project Architect

Project Architect or Interior Architect/Designer While working on single family residential projects for a San Francisco based Design + Build Firm, the designer is responsible for the development and documentation of project designs, specifications and selections in accordance with our client’s objectives and budget. The designer will collaborate with the production team; use creativity, core competency combined with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement to create designs that meet planning, zoning and building code requirements and that can be clearly understood by the client and effectively implemented by our production team. Requirements Bachelor level or higher degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired Professional license preferred but not required 5 + years’ experience working in a high-end residential design firm that includes project management, design and budgeting experience Career emphasis on kitchen and bathroom renovations Complete skills set required to make product and material selections, client presentations of selections, and ability to incorporate those into the project Ability to put together accurate and complete drawing sets suitable for submission to the building department as well as our construction Able to create carry projects from initial sketches through construction administration Knowledge of material and construction costs and estimating Excellent customer service, communications and project management skills Self-starter and self-motivated Detail oriented Skills and Tools Fluency in Vectorworks or AutoCAD is a must Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, experience preferred Hand sketching skills are appreciated Google Suite, Excel, MS Project is helpful Buildertrend experience is a nice to have Position Success Criteria Accurate and complete plans Teamwork-collaboration Projects moving from design to construction Client satisfaction Essential Functions Collect and document client programming information and help guide the team towards a project development consistent with client desires and budget Work under the Design Director and alongside the Production Manager to create a project consistent with the client’s desires and budget Plan and execute a design schedule. Review plans with Design Director and Production Manager at concept, schematic, design development and construction documentation phases prior to client presentations to ensure adherence to budget and to obtain input on construction means, methods and cost. Monitors customer satisfaction throughout the job taking appropriate action to ensure the end result of the project is complete customer satisfaction.
