Intermediate Interior Designer

DXA studio is currently looking to hire at all experience levels working in high-end residential, multi-family residential, hospitality or commercial projects. You must be available to work in New York City immediately. Job Scope and Major Responsibilities... • Partner closely with interior design team and work under the direction of mid – to – senior level designers • Provide creative support on projects, including but not limited to research, material sourcing and specification, furniture sourcing, presentation development (graphic, visual, and technical), and FF&E purchasing, tracking and installation coordination • Manage design department document filing, binder upkeep, and library • Maintains resource materials • Preparation of presentations • Performs site survey and documentation • Conducts routine checking and/ or verification tasks and performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have the follow minimum criteria: • 3 (three) years or more of interior design experience, preferably in high-end and/or multi – family residential, hospitality, or commercial projects • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture • Generates concepts for interiors projects, such as furniture and equipment planning, special design concepts and requirements, floor plan analysis, condition of building site, personal property, integrated structural components, mechanical and electrical and visual design concepts including material selection • Familiar with interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Rhino, Sketchup and Revit Possesses a strong knowledge of interior detailing and furniture fabrication methodologies • Strong conceptual, design, and presentation skills • Experience in construction document preparation including details, custom furniture and millwork • Self-motivated, proactive, and energetic team member with the ability to meet project timelines and actively add to the design conversation • Excellent organization and teamwork skills, with strong attention to detail • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment • Proficient in MS Word and Excel • Lives in the New York City area and is available to work immediately
