Cummings Architecture + Interiors specializes in residential homes across the North Shore and the Greater Boston area. As a Junior Interior Designer with our firm you will work on a variety of different projects. The appropriate candidate will be sociable, out-going, detail- oriented, self-driven, and able to work well in a group under the direction of the Senior Interior Designer and/or Principal Architect. Below are tasks related, but not limited to, the position: • Support Senior Interior Designer in all work-related tasks • Assist in schematic design and presentation prep • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, sales reps, and sub-contractors • Assist with order placement, order follow-up and tracking of orders • Assist with drawings in Vectorworks and 3D rendering software • Prepare spec books and care packets for all projects • Collecting estimates and preparing client Purchase Orders • Coordinate Furniture delivery and install • Assist with furniture installations • Update and manage sample library • Assist with social media presence (Instagram) • Some travel is expected with the position Qualifications & Expectations: • 1-2 years of experience in residential Interior Design is preferred • Creativity and ability to think outside the box • Professional work ethic and appearance • Proficiency in drafting preferred • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, etc • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong ability to multi-task with time management skills The fast-paced nature of the firm requires that the appropriate candidate be flexible, a quick learner, and be able to shift gears at any given moment. They should work well independently and as a team, understanding your job is to primarily support and take direction from the Senior Interior Designer.
