Junior Interior Designer

Meg McSherry Interiors is a full service residential design firm located in Newton, MA. Job responsibilities include: • Attend and take notes for internal design and client meetings • Determine and prepare scope of work and budget • Compile inspirational images to establish project aesthetic • Create and oversee drawing of floor plans, elevations and furniture plans • Maintain communication with clients, sub contractors and vendors • Communicate design decisions with procurement manager • Research fabric, furniture, lighting and material vendors for projects • Experience in creating schedules (door hardware, lighting, and finishes) • AutoCAD drafting of furniture plans, elevations, and other drawings • Assisting Designers with selection of furniture, fixtures and finishes • Assisting Designers and Procurement Coordinator with preparation of vendor quotes and proposals • Tracking orders • Assisting Designers in field surveying of sites • Assisting Designers with preparation for presentations and project meetings • Attending project meetings and providing documentation support • Assisting with project installations Qualifications: • Minimum of 2-3 years work experience in a residential design firm • Degree in Interior Design and/ or related field • Portfolio of work to include drawings and schemes • Experience in AutoCAD is required, SketchUp and Studio Designer is a plus.
