Junior Interior Designer

We are looking for a Junior Interior Designer with 3 years experience in residential design. Candidate: Christine Markatos Design is seeking a talented junior designer to join our team full time who is creative and enthusiastic about all aspects of residential design. The ideal applicant has 3 years of experience in a design studio with sourcing, purchasing, expediting and installation for high-end residential projects as well as basic drafting skills. The right candidate will be a self-starter who is highly motivated and interested in the opportunity to learn and grow. Responsibilities: Assist Principal and Senior Designer with all aspects of design process from design development to final installation Research and collaborate during design development phase including preparing of schematic designs and selection of material/furnishings Develop architectural plumbing, appliance and finish schedules and coordinate with contractors Secure vendor quotes, create client proposals and vendor purchase orders in Studio Designer Maintain detailed client files, including proposals, invoices, CFAs, schedules and samples Assist in monitoring and maintaining client budgets and statements Correspond with studio approved vendors Expedite and track of all client orders Coordinate with storage companies and receivers Requirements: 3 years of experience working in residential interior design firm Highly creative with the ability to take direction well Experience in sourcing and documenting FF&E; design elements Ability to multi-task multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work flow in dynamic office environment Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications Detail oriented and thorough Excellent project organization skills Ability to prepare efficient written communication for design team, vendors and artisans Studio Designer and Auto CAD experience a plus Personal transportation
