Junior Interior Designer / Showroom Design Specialist – LA

Pay: $30-35/hr based on experience

My client is a globally recognized leader in modern workplace furniture and commercial interiors, known for creating innovative, design-forward environments for corporate, hospitality, and commercial spaces. This opportunity will support one of their premium furniture brands within their NYC showroom.

They are looking for a Junior Interior Designer / Showroom Design Specialist to join the team on an ongoing contract basis. This is a unique dual role that combines hands-on commercial furniture design with showroom support. The majority of the position will focus on design work, while also providing exposure to the client-facing and operational side of a high-end furniture showroom.

Responsibilities

Create and support furniture drawings, layouts, specifications, and other design documentation for commercial projectsWork closely with dealers, sales representatives, engineering, and internal design partners to develop accurate project solutionsAssist with furniture selection, specifications, finishes, product details, and pricingReview project information and translate client/dealer needs into detailed drawings and specificationsSupport multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and deadlinesAssist with day-to-day showroom operations, including organizing and sending samples and maintaining showroom materialsHelp welcome clients, dealers, architects, designers, and other showroom visitorsSupport occasional showroom presentations and events, including limited evening eventsMaintain an organized, polished showroom environment while balancing ongoing design responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related disciplineApproximately 1–6 years of relevant design experience; strong entry-level candidates with directly relevant commercial furniture experience will also be consideredProficiency with AutoCAD or similar drawing/design softwareExperience with CET, Revit, space planning, furniture specifications, or commercial furniture systems is a plusExperience working for a commercial furniture manufacturer, furniture dealership, workplace design firm, architecture firm, or commercial interiors company is strongly preferredComfortable interpreting floor plans, product specifications, furniture layouts, and other technical project informationStrong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environmentProfessional, polished, and comfortable interacting with clients and showroom visitorsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work fully onsite Monday through Friday
