Junior to Intermediate Interior Designer Positions at Landed Interiors

Landed Interiors & Homes (landedinteriors.com) is hiring at our Berkeley studio for Junior to Intermediate level interior designers. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in design and drafting, and we are expecting to train in all other aspects of the position. Perfect for a self-motivated designer with a strong work ethic, this position is long-term with potential for growth and autonomy. Our work is known for a mix of custom and antique selections, and our clients approach us for our relationships and collaborations with the finest craftspeople and artisans. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design & Drafting • developing drawing sets at high quality ready for construction • collaborating with a project team of architects and technical consultants • designing custom cabinetry and furniture and approving shop drawings • familiarity with historic and classical architectural detailing Sourcing & Implementation • developing furnishing and materials schemes • familiarity with both contemporary and antique offerings, both online and at showrooms • experience sourcing for kitchens and baths • submitting RFQs to vendors and collecting product information • integrating sourced items into budgets, presentations, finish and materials schedules • purchasing furnishings, creating client invoices and vendor POs, and tracking orders Relationships • participation in client meetings and presentations • managing the agenda and expectations of clients and contractors • performing site visits with contractors and supervising installers • meeting with sales representatives and maintaining vendor accounts Studio Management • assisting the team in keeping the office organized and clean • maintaining the materials library with incoming resources and outgoing returns QUALIFICATIONS • A college degree or equivalent experience in Interior Design or Architecture • Junior: 1-3 years minimum experience at a high-end residential interior design firm • Intermediate: 3-5 years minimum experience at a high-end residential interior design firm • Advanced written skills and ability to communicate effectively • Client-facing skills in high-end markets • On-site construction and contractor/installer experience • Working knowledge of construction document sets and permit sets • Familiarity with SF Design Center showrooms • Experience designing custom furniture, upholstery, and window coverings • Valid CA driver’s license and car PROGRAM & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS • MacOS system • AutoCAD (experience with Vectorworks a plus - training is offered) • Adobe Creative Suite • Microsoft Office • Google Drive (Cloud-based file hosting and documents) • Dropbox (Cloud-based file hosting) • Ivy/Houzz Pro (Cloud-based interior design purchasing and invoicing) • Harvest (Cloud-based time tracking) • Slack (Cloud-based team messaging) • Asana (Cloud-based project management) • Experience with Ivy/Houzz Pro (or similar interior design purchasing and invoicing platform) is a plus • Experience with SketchUp or 3D modeling is a plus COMPENSATION • Full-time/Salary W-2 employment • Location: Berkeley, CA • Hybrid work week: 4 days in office, work-from-home on Thursdays.
