employment type: part-time (2-3years experience) Mastery of basic metal working tools such as Mig and Tig welding apparatuses Ability to identify and work with different metals ie: galvanized, iron, copper, steel, aluminum Precise eye for measurement and attention to detail when using tools Experience cutting sheet metal by hand or using power shears Use scribers, dividers and squares to mark dimensions on materials Must be reliable and have a positive attitude Ability to weld with precision and a meticulous eye for finishing and smoothing edges Strong organizational skills and experience in production workflow Experience with reading and building from assembly prints Ability to work beyond 40 hours per week if required Possess strong critical thinking skills and work independently We are a sustainable interior design studio based in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The ideal candidate for this position is experienced in multiple areas of welding with the ability to work on designs from conception to completion. We are looking to add a talented individual to our team with dynamic skills and a passion for all aspects of production from the structural to the creative elements. Because all of our furniture is made from re-use materials, you must be willing to work with unique materials and find creative ways to transform them with our team. Woodworking is also plus as most of the pieces we work on are often a combination of wood and metal.
