Mid & Senior Level-Interior Designer/Architect

Dawson Design Associates, an award-winning and internationally recognized hotel consultancy and design firm, is seeking a Mid Level project interior designer/architect to join our Seattle office. Both our Seattle and London offices are growing, and we are looking for dynamic designers to build the future of DDA. * The successful candidate must possess: -An undergraduate or graduate degree in Interior Design/Architecture from an accredited university -3+ years minimum of commercial work experience for a mid level and 5+ years for a senior level -High level of interior finishes and preparing millwork, joinery detailing -Sound site management experience -Knowledge of construction terminology and fabrication needs -Knowledge of the design process, including FF&E;, Specifications, colors, and materials -DD and CD Production background, with experience producing Construction Documents for permit -Experience tracking construction progress and working with contractors from execution of drawings through completion and punch lists -Experience producing Finished Elevations with millwork, outlets, cabinetry, and specialty finishes clearly noted, tagged, and indicated -Strong space planning and concept development skills -Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop, including layering, FTP coordination, Rendering and 3-D Applications -Experience managing and tracking a project from the initial concept phase to completed construction -Experience managing and scheduling a small team -A willingness and eagerness to mentor and train junior design staff -Superior verbal and written communication skills -The ability to work on a deadline and under pressure, while still delivering outstanding results -Highly organized and process-oriented -High energy and enthusiasm - a dynamic personality -A desire to work in a team setting and an excitement to share knowledge and ideas with others -A strong work ethic, sense of professionalism, and a desire to constantly learn Preferred qualifications: -Experience with SketchUp and the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop -The ability to bring great, fresh ideas to the team that are project appropriate and meet the needs of our clients -On-site and construction administration experience -The ability to occasionally travel, both internationally and domestically -Superior hand- drawing and sketching ability We are looking for creative and talented architect, with experience in boutique, upper-luxury, and/or high-end commercial projects. In this position, you will be responsible for producing world-class construction documents, working within budgeted hours, and upholding the integrity of the design.
