The ideal candidate has worked as a designer in a furniture or millwork facility for over 5 years, and is experienced setting up files for CNC production and making shop drawings. Experience as a fabricator or at least a firm grasp of production operations / equipment is a must. *Please note: Due to the hands-on nature of this job we are not accepting remote applicants. * Design / Detailing Aid in design phase by making drawings for client approval as necessary Move projects into production by taking approved designs from the schematic phase and detailing all parts Incorporate actual material thicknesses / properties Update design to conform with latest site dimensions Specify all hardware and ensure moving parts will all function Create bill of materials and order lists for each project Develop diagrams, additional shop drawings, files for vendors, etc. Help Production Director manage CNC queue Prototyping Quickly design and try out new methods and materials on CNC and other equipment Communicate with vendors to ensure design intent is feasible for our outsourced processes.
