Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Position: Design Professional IIIReports To: Project Manager/LeadClassification: ExemptSummaryDesign Professional III Non-licensed architecture professional having completed a minimum of eight years of architecture related experience. Provides professional architectural consultation on large complex projects. Project size differentiates this position from a senior design professional.Requirements:Essential Functions:Independently produces finished plans, specifications and approval of materials and construction on moderate to large scale projectsParticipates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project.Provide professional consultation and coordination of the planning and development of construction and design document production and provides technical expertise to ensure coordinated and high-quality documentsLiaises with Project Management, other architects, and consultants Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects.Perform construction administration duties, such as site visits, RFI responses, submittals, and punch list reviewsCreate and review projects reports, estimates, calculations, specifications, and compile/analyze relevant dataResponsible to monitor billing efficiency rates and work at maximizing team’s quality and efficiency in assigned tasksProactively coordinates meetings with client, project team, consultants, and contractor meetings to ensure trust and confidenceProvide technical guidance to less experienced project associates and internsInvolve explorations of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of complex or novel concepts and methodsContribute innovative design ideas that consistently capture the intended design visionContribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and communityCompetencies:Proficiency in Revit requiredProficiency with Adobe Creative Suites required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Proficiency with Sketchup and Rhino preferred. Lumion, Enscape, and V-Ray is a plusStrong working knowledge of zoning and building codes, specifications, building /engineering systems and agency requirements (NFPA, ADAAG, FGI, OBC, IBC etc)Possess a balanced blend of design and technical skillsKnowledge in the design process, construction documentation and construction administrationOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAbility to meet schedule deadlines and work within the client's budgetExcellent organization and client presentation skillsPassion for providing exceptional client serviceCollaborative and professional work ethicCertification RequirementsNoneSupervisory RequirementsProvide supervision for project associates or interns as neededWork EnvironmentThis position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels including collaborative work areas for team meetings.
