Project architect

Raumfabrik is a young and growing architecture & interior design firm based in Berkeley. We are expanding to keep up with demand and looking for a talented project architect with a minimum of seven years of work experience in residential design to join our team. This is an opportunity to be involved in every aspect of a project from beginning to end and play an integral role in the development of the company. You will be working part time from home and part time in the office. Requirements: you have great design skills and are passionate about your work BArch degree from accredited school - interior design degree does not qualify licensed architect or working toward licensure proficient and 2D and 3D drafting / modeling software, Vectorworks preferred solid knowledge of California building code and local zoning regulations solid knowledge of local permitting procedures construction experience is a big plus fluent in English both spoken and written great communications skills you have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic superior organization skills valid US work permit – we are not able to sponsor visa applications at this time valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to visit showrooms and job sites Key responsibilities: on site measuring and field documentation zoning and permitting research developing design concepts 3D modeling and creating renderings producing complete sets of construction documents with minimal assistance material palette and fixture selections filing permit applications attending site visits and client meetings – communicating with contractors and consultants What we offer: competitive salary, commensurate with experience PTO and 10 paid holidays employer contribution to health insurance employer contribution to retirement plan paid 8 hours of continuing education per year paid architect licensing exam fees work from home part time and flexible schedules friendly work environment in light filled office close to transportation and restaurants dog friendly office
