Brett King Builder-Contractor (BKB) is a second-generation, design-build renovation firm serving Bucks County, PA and surrounding areas since 1982. We specialize in high-end residential renovations (kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home remodels) with a reputation for quality craftsmanship and a client-first approach. Our team manages every phase from initial design through final walkthrough.

About the Role

We are looking for a Residential Designer to own the design experience for our clients, from the first vision conversation through a complete, production-ready selection package. This is a design-forward role: you will shape the look and feel of each project, guide clients through material and finish decisions, and bring a professional eye to spaces that carry a $150K to $1M+ investment.

You will also keep the details organized. Great design only works when every selection is tracked, specified, and ready for the field, so strong organization is part of the job. But this role leads with design.

This is an in-office position based in our Perkasie, PA office, with regular client meetings at local showrooms and occasional site visits. You will report directly to Nathan King (Owner/Operator) and work closely with our Project Manager to turn client vision into buildable plans.

What You Will Do

Develop the design direction for each project, helping clients define style, materials, color, and finishes that fit their home and budgetGuide clients through selections (tile, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring, paint, hardware, and more) with confidence and tasteLead client meetings at local showrooms, helping clients navigate options and make decisions they feel great aboutCreate design packages, material boards, and selection presentations that bring the vision to lifeCollaborate with cabinet shops, drafters, architects, and design partners to refine layouts and detailsMaintain complete, organized specifications in our project management system (JobTread) so nothing falls throughEnsure every selection is finalized and documented before production beginsKeep clear records the production team can build from without guessworkWhat We Are Looking For

A genuine eye for residential design, especially kitchens, baths, and whole-home renovations, with a portfolio or work samples to show itBackground in interior design, kitchen and bath design, or a related design fieldConfidence leading clients through the design and selection process in personStrong knowledge of renovation materials, finishes, and how they come together in a spaceExcellent organization; you love a beautiful design and a clean, complete spec sheetComfort in showrooms and with vendors, and the ability to build those relationshipsWillingness to learn our systems (we will train you on JobTread and our workflow)A collaborative mindset; you will work alongside our Project Manager and Owner dailyNice to Have

Formal design education or certification (interior design, NKBA/AKBD, kitchen and bath design)Experience with project management or construction management softwareExisting relationships with local showrooms, suppliers, or design vendors in the Bucks County areaSchedule and Compensation
