Residential Interior Designer

OverviewWe are seeking a full-time, Residential Interior Designer with at least 10+ years of experience designing and detailing the interiors of substantial residential properties.ResponsibilitiesExecute fine interior designs and details while proactively collaborating with design and construction team members as well as sophisticated residential clients.Design and detail architectural interiors and generate interior finish specifications for new home construction, restorations, and renovations (including millwork and cabinetry).Apply a high proficiency in interior design principles and practices.Work based out of C&M’s Essex office and integrate with the Interiors Group, collaborating with architectural, interior design, and woodworking teams.Travel to job sites throughout New England as required.QualificationsRequiredUndergraduate or graduate degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.10+ years of experience in space planning, interior architecture, interior design and construction drawings.Demonstrable experience working with and managing high-end residential clients.Proficiency in CAD drafting software is required.Strong and demonstrable experience in cabinetry and millwork design and detailing.Knowledge of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection, specification, and procurement ecosystem and process.Strong vendor (both local and nationwide) relationships.Strong creative and problem-solving skills are critical.Relentless attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with clients, architects, and builders.PreferredProficiency / Working knowledge of ArchiCAD.Experience in historic preservation.Experience with Gather and/or Studio Designer.C&M offers a competitive salary and bonus structure, PTO, health and retirement benefit options, and continuing education opportunities.About Carpenter & Mac NeilleEstablished in 1996, Carpenter & Mac Neille designs, restores and builds award-winning homes throughout the Greater Boston region, New England and beyond.
