Residential Interior Designer

Department: Design 6 remodeling and Design is an established, award-winning design & build firm seeking a Residential Interior Designer to join our San Jose-based team of professional designers, architects and contractors. Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter that thrives on working on a team. - Lead (4) to (5) residential remodeling projects in design with minimal supervision - Familiar with Vectorworks, provide draft-detailed, construction-ready plans - Design kitchen and bath projects ranging in complexity from cosmetic to larger-scope custom - Measure and document existing spaces; draft as-builts - Specify and source finish materials - Create 3D renderings in SketchUp for communicating concept to both clients and critical details to construction staff and tade partners - Solicit bids and perform data entry of materials selections - Collaborate with sales and construction staff, trouble-shoot design issues in the field - Excellent CAD skills with the ability to prepare highly-detailed construction documents - Strong aptitude for space planning - Excellent communication skills and attention to details - Highly organized with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage time - Basic knowledge of residential construction practices (and a strong desire to learn more) - Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of development - Ability to maintain calm and organized in a constantly changing environment - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PC-based computing
