The Senior Interior Designer is a creative self-starter willing to assume the day-to-day responsibilities of interior design and production for assigned projects, as well as construction administration, marketing support and professional development... This person is able to envision and capture the big picture and communicate and promote the details of a solution. The Senior Interior Designer is able to delegate and leverage skill sets through mentoring, coaching and training. The responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer include: • Keeping KZF’s promise of good design and client satisfaction • Demonstrating experience with public and private sector projects • Assuming the “day-to-day” responsibility of interior design/production • Conducting field investigations • Providing interior design, concept development and final design services, including space planning, programming, finish selection, millwork design, furniture and furniture systems design and selection, architectural design, lighting design • Assuring document conformance with KZF standards and quality requirements • Preparing outline and final Construction Document specifications • Leading the development and mentoring of junior interior designers • Coordinating with all professional disciplines assigned to the project • Attending team project meetings and client review meetings • Assisting with the development and maintenance of interior design standards • Maintaining a current knowledge of materials and resources • Providing Construction Administration support • Proactively involved in personal professional development • Working with KZF’s market leaders to promote KZF to its clients • Providing marketing support, including proposal input and client interviews • Estimating Interior Design hour budgets and working within established budgets Required • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Interior Design working in an A/E design consulting firm, with an emphasis on interior design for buildings, and a concentration in the Commercial Interior Design industry • Bachelor’s degree in interior design from a FIDER/CIDA accredited US college, or equivalent in a related discipline • NCIDQ Certification
